Hubli

Hubli is a place in Karnataka which is located at a distance of around 420 Km north from Bangalore. Hubli whenever talked about is talked along with its twin Dharwad which is famous for its pedas. Hubli is famous for Industries.

But Hubli for me is become a honeymoon place. It is a place where I go once a month to meet my husband since he works at a place called Karad which is 120 K.M. from Pune. It is a place which is almost at an equal distance from Bangalore and Karad. It takes around eight hours by train to reach there and thus has become a very convenient meeting place for us so that neither of us has to travel for sixteen hours to meet each other. Sixteen hours is the time required to reach Karad from Bangalore and vice versa.

What more I can tell about Hubli there are a few which I recall because there have been a very few places in Hubli that I have visited. In Hubli there are many theatres that we visit actually there is a group of theater which plays Hindi movies and to surprise the ticket for Balcony costs only Rs. 60 per head. There is also a lassie bar just attached to the wall of the theater where a nice creamy glass of sweet lassie costs around Rs.14. This is a plus point for us because fortunately my son loves Lassie. We always got to the show that is at three and back to the lodge after the movie.

In Hubli there is a Big Bazaar which is very big in size and to my surprise has all the variety and ranges of any and every house hold goods. It is at least better than the one that is near my house at Bangalore. There is always sale in the Big bazaar at Hubli and I get to buy many things for really low price and be happy. This big bazaar is on Gokul road which is around seven to eight kilometers from the lodge and costs around fifty bucks in rickshaw to reach there. Prior to big bazaar on the there is this huge park that I have never been to because it looks very untidy and dirty from the outside. And, also there is no place of shade that we can find from the outside view of the park.

The weather at Hubli whenever I have been has been hot even during the first half of the winter season and this is also a factor which stops me from going to the park which is in the centre of the city, thinking of spending any time there. Hubli is also become my favorite place for one more reason that I can always find reservation in the train to reach there. It is also my favorite because I can leave Bangalore by Friday night and reach there by Saturday early morning and be able to spend my weekend with my hubby and be back to work on Monday leaving Hubli on Sunday night.

Hubli is become like a boon to our marriage life because it is the place where we can meet any weekend of the month we decide and has convenient transportation to and from there without much hassles.
