I am a bangalorean and I say that out loud... I remember those days here during the summer when one fan would be enough to start making you feel cold.
We use to know that summer is at peak at Bangalore only during the hours 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, but after that it used to be windy and cool. We would go out and play during school P.T hours or at home. But now see, what the weather has turned into :( Thanks to the "metro" development...They are cutting down trees all across the city for "development" but aren't they actually destroying the cooll ambiance of the city? and if they are why aren't we doing anything about it.
I am not writing this blog to blame the metro development or anything but I just feel sad... that the garden city of India is becoming like any other cosmopolitan city where it is full of pollution, dust, heat etc..
Also, I just don't blame the metro alone... It is also because the rise in automobile usage, destruction of other natural resources, extra digging of the earth for bore well water... All this is adding up to the chaos in the weather.
When people used to ask me about Bangalore weather (days when I was away from Bangalore)... I would so proudly describe it... But Alas...my pride for Bangalore's weather is deteriorating day by day and what I feel sad and bad about mostly is that I am not aware as to what I need to do to play my part of being a good citizen (a Bangalorean)...
I think I am playing some role in saving nature by saving water, planting trees at my place, reducing garbage, recycling stuff and things like that ... Can some body tell me of things i can do more than these?
Luv
Sadhana
